Little Boat, Silver Moon

《小白船，大银月》Little Boat, Silver Moon is a multi-sensory, family-oriented arts experience that introduces young children and their accompanying adults to Chinese children’s songs and cultural imagery through sound, story, and embodied listening. Anchored in the well-known children’s song Xiao Bai Chuan《小白船》, and contextualised alongside related folk melodies, the programme invites families on an imaginative journey across symbols of boat, moon, light, and travel. Rather than a didactic performance, the experience is participatory and relational, encouraging shared listening, imagination, and gentle interaction. The programme is grounded in SonicPlay™, an evidence-based pedagogy developed by Dr. Natalie Alexandra Tse, which positions listening as the foundation of learning, and sound as a primary medium for connection, cultural awareness, and meaning-making.
